Inner Language

Works from 2018–2019 marking a decisive shift toward an intuitive, neo-expressionist language. Developed in a state of flow rather than from predetermined compositions, these paintings build through successive responses to colour, gesture and material.

Psychographic and automatic marks, graphite, pastel and charcoal move through fields of acrylic as each work gradually establishes its own internal vocabulary. This body of work records a period in which Audrey Néron’s practice became increasingly self-directed, allowing form to emerge through the act of painting itself.
