Curator’s Note
Rosemary’s Baby is a bold and emotionally charged work from Audrey Néron’s Abstract Series, created in 2018. Measuring 14 × 18 inches, this one-of-a-kind piece captures a visceral expression of inner turbulence through a dramatic interplay of form, color, and tension.
A dominant blood-red hue slices across the surface, evoking raw emotion—rage, fear, intensity. Beneath it lies a muted metallic green-grey, softly fractured with etched lines that suggest a buried narrative, a conflict not yet resolved. These elements coexist in confrontation and harmony, in a haunting balance of presence and void.
The textured application of acrylic contrasts with the subtle layering of pastel, building a visual tension where violence and vulnerability meet. The title, a reference to the 1968 psychological horror film, deepens the work’s emotional resonance—hinting at themes of control, bodily autonomy, and primal dread.
The artwork is presented in a minimalist white frame, amplifying its intensity while offering a visual pause — a border of calm around chaos.
Artist’s Note
I painted Rosemary’s Baby in a state of emotional urgency—
where fragility and fury intertwined.
This work is not a story, but a rupture.
A scream beneath the skin.
