Acrylic, graphite, and charcoal on canvas board
35.6 x 45.7 cm (14 x 18 in)
Series: Abstractions
In Reflextor, Audrey Néron explores the tension between spontaneous gesture and structured mark-making. Rooted in a multidisciplinary practice where drawing, painting, and materiality intersect, the work asserts itself through immediate impact and intuitive depth.
A vivid red form, almost organic, erupts at the center of the composition—evoking a visceral presence, perhaps a body, a memory, or a silenced scream. Surrounding it, layers of white, grey, and black—rendered in graphite and charcoal—blur the legibility of the surface, as though the painting itself hesitates between revelation and concealment. Nervous black lines snake across the canvas like a cryptic language, inviting both contemplation and interpretation.
Far from purely formal abstraction, Reflextor engages in an introspective approach where material becomes a vehicle for raw emotion. Through this work, Néron continues her exploration of fragmented narratives and suspended identities—hovering between appearance and erasure.
