Curator’s Note
Ultima Vox is the first panel in a triptych retable and a vivid meditation on endings, transformation, and the irrepressible voice that endures collapse. Swirling brushstrokes carve through a chaos of flesh and color a visceral storm where bodies rise, dissolve, and merge.
Here, Audrey Néron fuses the sacred and the raw, weaving human figures into a dense painterly topography. The composition pulses with ambiguity divine reckoning or internal rupture? The scale echoes that of historical altarpieces, but through an abstract, fiercely contemporary lens.
Artist’s Words
“This painting came out like a last breath. I didn’t plan it the story emerged through gesture. It was a cry, a plea, a reckoning. A moment where all the figures I carried within me demanded to surface. That’s why I called it Ultima Vox the last voice, the one that still echoes even when silence falls.”
