Curatorial Statement

With Microbiote I, Canadian artist Audrey Néron proposes a poetic cartography of the invisible. This contemplative abstract work offers a visual meditation on the microscopic worlds that animate our existence—organisms, rhythms, and systems that remain hidden yet deeply vital.

Composed of acrylic and graphite, the piece unfolds in a subdued yet luminous palette of purples, silvers, and whites. Constellations of imperfect circular forms evoke cellular patterns, bacterial colonies, or internal landscapes. Their semi-transparent layering and gestural contours suggest quiet motion—a pulse or breath held just beneath the surface.

Part of Néron’s Abstract Series, Microbiote I reflects a broader investigation into matter and transformation. By translating scientific structures into expressive forms, the artist opens a dialogue between the organic and the emotional, inviting viewers to experience abstraction as both observation and intuition.
