Fragments of figures surface within a dense painterly field while contour, colour and gesture repeatedly interrupt one another. Bodies and surrounding space merge, separate and re-form across the image rather than resolving into a fixed scene.
The China marker introduces a sharper graphic register against the painted layers, intensifying the tension between drawn structure and unstable figuration.
