Birds of Paradise III (2020) Audrey Néron Acrylic, oil, silk paper, marker and Japanese candy wrappers on canvas 20.32 × 25.4 cm (8 × 10 in) Framed in white
Painted branches, floral fragments and collage move across a compact field of saturated and pastel colour. The candy-wrapper fragments introduce reflective pattern and material contrast, while drawn and painted marks keep the image suspended between ornament, organic form and abstraction.
