Birds of Paradise I (2020) Audrey Néron Acrylic, oil, silk paper, marker and Japanese candy wrappers on canvas 20.32 × 25.4 × 0.2 cm (8 × 10 × 0.08 in) Framed in white
Floral and branch-like forms move through a compact field of pastel colour, painted gesture and collage. Japanese candy wrappers and silk paper interrupt the surface with shifts in pattern and texture, giving the composition a lively, layered rhythm.
