Description

Bacchanale II is Audrey Néron’s bold reinterpretation of Nicolas Poussin’s Bacchanale devant un terme, reimagined through the prism of contemporary abstraction. Part of the Humans Landscape series, this unique work captures the duality of celebration and chaos, blending sensuality, myth, and expressive gesture.

Through layers of acrylic and oil, sharpened by assertive china marker lines, the figures oscillate between abstraction and figuration. Swirling hues of pinks, blues, and earthy greens suggest vitality and disorder, evoking the frenzied spirit of the Bacchanals. The textured surfaces and fluid brushwork invite the viewer to explore a space where past and present, myth and modernity, converge.

This artwork embodies both timeless mythology and Néron’s contemporary vision, offering a narrative that is as expressive as it is enigmatic.
