Is a reinterpretation of a work by the Grand Master of French painting from the Fauvisme period "La Joie de Vivre", 1905-1906, Henri Matisse.

"Ethereal Embrace," evokes an embrace or a kiss that possesses an intangible quality, almost celestial or spiritual. It suggests a deep and transcendent connection between the individuals involved, imbued with gentleness, beauty, and a certain magical aura. In these privileged moments, each breath seems suspended, as the flow of time stops, making way for the purity and intensity of the present moment. In this timeless bubble, their souls come together, carried by the powerful force of their connection. Their love resonates like an enchanting melody, enveloping their hearts with gentleness and passion. In this peaceful intimacy, lovers find refuge, cradled by the infinite caress of eternity.

Creative Process:

I reinterpret iconic representations of recurring and often epic themes and atmospheres. Drawing inspiration from images of painters from another era who share a similar narrative sensitivity, I continue the conversation with a contemporary perspective.
I disfigure the characters or substitute them with faces of people from my own tribe, diverting the narrative by making it my own.

My research project with this series aims to play with the boundaries between figuration and abstraction to extract the essence of the message and transcend the emotion.
